There are apps and services that offer to let you pass your social accounts to your ‘heirs’ but It seems Google is the first to offer it directly.

‘Not many of us like thinking about death — especially our own. But making plans for what happens after you’re gone is really important for the people you leave behind. So today, we’re launching a new feature that makes it easy to tell Google what you want done with your digital assets when you die or can no longer use your account.

‘The feature is called Inactive Account Manager — not a great name, we know — and you’ll find it on your Google Account settings page. You can tell us what to do with your Gmail messages and data from several other Google services if your account becomes inactive for any reason…’

Young Driver Never Finished This Text Before Fatal Crash

‘Alexander Heit, who was from Boulder, was a student at the University of Northern Colorado studying audiology.

‘Heit died after his car ran off the road April 3 in northwest Greeley and police have determined that he lost control while texting and driving.

‘During the investigation, officers found Heit’s cell phone in the vehicle. On the display was a text message conversation with the last text received at 5:16 p.m.

‘“Hey man I had to run out for like an hour,” the sender wrote.

‘A partial response was typed, but never sent.

‘“Sounds good my man, seeya soon, ill tw,” it read.

‘He had a spotless driving record and was not speeding…’
